News From Your BRM Council

The BRM Council is gaining momentum! However, we are still looking for more individuals who want to play a part in shaping the role of the BRM professional. If you haven’t signed up for the BRM Council yet, find more information about opportunities to work with the BRM Council here.

Council Sub-Committee Teams:
After the council conducted surveys to find out which topics challenge us the most across the world, we divided the Council Lead Team into sub-teams to tackle the most pertinent matters. The sub-committee teams will be tackling the following topics:

• Providing value through the BRM role/gaining Business Partner trust
• Creating provider value if the provider lacks credibility, and how the BRM can influence this relationship and move the organization further up the maturity model
• Clarifying and integrating the BRM role alongside and within other IT Roles.

These sub-committees are just starting up and the kick-off meetings are coming soon! If you want to contribute to these efforts, this is the perfect time to join the BRM Council, as well as a sub-committee team. To sign up, click here.

BRMConnect 2016

We are expanding the footprint of BRM Connect in 2016, with not one, but four events in the works around the world! Based on the resounding success of last year’s conference, we know that we will need all the help we can get in the planning and executing stages of these events. If this is your thing, please join the Council and let us know!

Lastly, as a practicing BRM, I know that each day is both challenging and exciting, as we are all forging the message of value forward. The BRM Council can give you support, a boost in confidence, and a place to validate your approach in your environment. I encourage you to join the Council, as it is a place to have fun and develop relationships, all while shaping the world.
