Earlier this month BRM Institute was invited to present at the SIM Connect Live conference in Dallas, TX

The conference attracts IT leaders from around the world as the Society for Information Management (SIM) is the premier network for CIOs, senior IT executives, prominent academicians, and foremost consultants. The event took place at the Sheraton Dallas in downtown Dallas. It featured a unique layout with very few podiums and a focus on interactive, roundtable discussions. Representatives from Business Relationship Management (BRM) Institute were Board Chair Joe Topinka, CEO and CBRM Aaron Barnes, VP of Membership Success Meriah Barnes, and Chief Development Officer Marleen Lundy. The North American BRM Regional Ambassador, Peter Lijnse, connected with us during the event as well.

As a Strategic Alliance Partner, we were excited to host an exhibitor booth at SIM Connect Live. We were introduced into SIM Chapters across the nation and provided the opportunity to present to their attendees. It was the perfect setting to further drive awareness and adoption of BRM. The innovative setting provided us the ability to directly engage the C-suite about the value of the BRM profession and sparked many creative conversations. These conversations led to valuable networking moments with some of the top IT leaders from around the world.

When asked for a highlight from the event Chief Development Officer Marleen Lundy remarked:

“The networking aspects really solidified the experience for me. The momentum of conversation and inspiration flowed into the evening as SIM community members and the BRM Institute team got a chance to interact and collaborate.”

Another highlight was the presentation by our Board Chair, Joe Topinka. He described why and how to leverage a Business Relationship Management capability and profession to move IT to a strategic partner. He also discussed driving exponential business results consistently across industries. Joe’s presentation was well received with good audience engagement and participation.

The valuable connections and inspiring conversations from SIM Connect Live will further our community collaborations and drive greater awareness and adoption of business relationship management.
