Announcing the New Community of Interest for Virginia

BRM Institute is excited to announce that Virginia, commonly known as “the birthplace of the nation,” is now home to our newest Community of Interest (COI), dedicated to enriching the lives of business relationship management professionals on the eastern seaboard.

As one of the first 15 states to join the Union and one of four “commonwealth” states in the U.S., Virginia now serves as home base for the United States Navy’s Atlantic Fleet. Virginia also has a wide array of technological needs, ranging from the political needs of Northern Virginia and Richmond to the GPS smart farming equipment used by farmers, from academic communities like Charlottesville and Blacksburg to the coal mining industries of Buchanan, Dickenson, and Wise Counties.

The Virginia Is for BRMs COI is led by Kirk Olinger, a BRM who believes that helping people navigate the labyrinth of IT has quickly become the most satisfying career decision he’s ever made. Kirk knows that the unique relationships BRMs build with clients have the potential to make a significant impact, and his goal for the group is to provide a place for experienced and novice BRMs and BRDs to come together and encourage and support one another.

“Remember,” he says, “the key word in our title is RELATIONSHIP.”

We encourage you to visit our Communities of Interest page and find one that aligns with your goals as a BRM, whether it’s through a specific interest, industry, or geographic region. Join a community, introduce yourself, and share some of your BRM journey. Together we can go far!
