Announcing the New BRM Institute Regional Ambassador for Sub-Saharan Africa

In keeping with BRM Institute’s commitment to supporting the global BRM community, we are excited to announce the appointment of Gary Hardy of IT Winners to the position of BRM Institute Regional Ambassador for sub-Saharan Africa.

Global Ambassadors invest in BRMs around the world by bringing awareness to the field and accelerating their path to professional success. These ambassadors help build critical communication and advocacy between BRMs by providing essential connections, strengthening existing networks, and helping to create measurable impact in organizations. The Global Ambassador program is a critical component of BRM Institute’s efforts to help create a sustainable future for our members and organizations worldwide.

Gary Hardy is the owner of IT Winners, an independent IT best practices consultancy and training company based in Cape Town, South Africa that focuses on increasing enterprise business value. Gary has over 40 years of experience in the IT industry and is recognized globally as an expert and thought leader in IT governance, business and IT convergence, and IT performance improvement.

The Global Ambassador program is a critical component of BRM Institute’s efforts to help create a sustainable future for our members and organizations worldwide.

Gary is a long-standing member of ISACA, a past board member, UK chapter president, and regional vice president. He was also one of the originators of the COBIT initiative in 1992 and has been a key member of ISACA’s COBIT development team for the past 20 years. Gary has also authored the ITIL and COBIT interface guide for Axelos.

As Regional Ambassador, Gary plans to host webinars and events aimed at bringing local BRMs together for networking and career advancement opportunities, as well as developing content and news on relevant issues facing BRMs today. He also intends to bring BRM sessions to next year’s ISACA and ITsmfSA conferences, in addition to many other efforts.

Gary states, “In our region, technology will be a key enabler of economic growth and transforming public services. The BRM role will be critically important in meeting the challenge of providing solutions that can successfully meet these needs.”

We congratulate and welcome Gary in his new role as Regional Ambassador of sub-Saharan Africa, and look forward to the ways in which he can lend his knowledge and expertise to the benefit of BRMs on a global scale.

Larissa Pienkowski is the Managing Editor of Business Relationship Management Institute (BRM Institute), where she develops, manages, and edits all of BRM Institute’s digital media, publications, press releases, and other forms of content. She served as the Chief Editor of the CBRM® Guide to the BRM Book of Knowledge. As a poet, writer, and freelance editor, she is well-versed in writing within a variety of genres, and she holds a degree in Social Work and Sociology from Simmons College.
