Storyteller Rules & Requirements
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Storyteller for the World BRMConnect Conference!
Below are important dates and deadlines, along with other critical information you will need throughout the process. You can reach out to us at anytime with questions at [email protected]
Dates and Deadlines
- May 1, 2025 – Outline of your session materials (PPT slides, handouts, etc.).
- June 1, 2025 – Draft of your session materials (PPT slides, handouts, etc.).
- June 1, 2026 – All required materials to date, deposits, and completed forms must be submitted no later than. Failure to meet this deadline will result in forfeiture of your Storytelling session slot.
- July 31, 2025 – Final version of your session materials (PPT slides, handouts, etc.).
- September 21, 2025 – World BRMConnect 2025 in Denver, CO
Required Speaker Information
You will be asked to complete the 2026 World BRMConnect Speaker Agreement which includes:

- Headshot (no less than 600×600 pixels)
- Bio (in third person, no more than 250 words)
- Session Title (no more than seven (7) words)
- Session Description (no more than 250 words)
Important Details for Registration and Permissions
- Register for BRMConnect 2026 HERE with this discount code: #2026STORYTELLER. A $200 USD deposit is required at the time of acceptance, you can do that now HERE. Pricing will be locked in if this deposit is made by June 1, 2025.
- Attend a virtual Storyteller Orientation session in dates tbd 2026. (Several orientation sessions will be available.)
- Notify [email protected] immediately if I am suddenly unable to present.
- Agree to the BRM Code of Conduct.
- Complete the permission opt ins:
- Include your name in BRM Institute Publications?
- Can we take your photo?
- Can we use your photo for publication?
- Can we quote you?
- Note you were at an event?
- Note how you participated in the event?
- Include your name?
- Include your job title?
- Appropriately include your IP? (Such as inclusion with trademark, etc)
- Tag you in social media?
- Share your information with Chapters?

Volunteer Storyteller Agreement
1. Role & Responsibilities
The Storyteller agrees to:
– Deliver the agreed-upon session (presentation, workshop, keynote, panel, or other format).
– Prepare and submit all required content, slides, and materials by the deadlines provided by BRM Institute.
– Participate in planning calls and technical rehearsals as requested.
– Deliver content in a professional, ethical, and accurate manner.
BRM Institute agrees to:
– Provide clear information, guidance, and support to enable successful participation.
– Assist the Storyteller in setting goals and expectations for the session.
– Serve as the Storyteller’s point of contact.
– Treat the Storyteller with respect and value their contributions.
– Welcome feedback to improve programs and operations.
2. Compensation
The Storyteller acknowledges this is a voluntary, unpaid role. No compensation, honorarium, or travel reimbursement will be provided unless expressly stated in writing in advance.
3. Materials & Deadlines
The Storyteller will submit all presentation materials—including slides, handouts, videos, and related files—by the deadlines communicated by BRM Institute. BRM Institute may update deadlines with written notice (email acceptable). Failure to meet deadlines may result in removal from the program.
4. Ownership & License
The Storyteller retains ownership of their original content. The Storyteller grants BRM Institute a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to record, reproduce, display, distribute, and use the session and related materials for educational, archival, and promotional purposes. BRM Institute will provide appropriate credit when materials are used.
5. Confidentiality
The Storyteller may receive non-public information regarding the event, participants, or BRM Institute. Such information must remain confidential and may not be used or disclosed outside the scope of participation. This obligation survives the event.
6. Non-Endorsement
Participation as a Storyteller does not constitute endorsement by BRM Institute of any product, service, viewpoint, or organization. The Storyteller may not use BRM Institute’s name or logo for promotional purposes without prior written consent.
7. Conduct & Content Standards
The Storyteller will present content that is respectful, inclusive, accurate, and appropriate for the audience, and will comply with all event guidelines provided.
8. Recording & Media Release
The Storyteller authorizes BRM Institute to photograph, record, livestream, and use their name, image, and voice for educational, promotional, or archival purposes.
9. Cancellation
Either party may withdraw with reasonable notice. BRM Institute is not responsible for any costs incurred by the Storyteller due to cancellation.
10. Liability
The Storyteller participates voluntarily and assumes any associated risks. To the extent permitted by law, the Storyteller releases BRM Institute from liability related to participation in the event.
