BRM Institute is excited to announce that Southern California now has its very own Community of Interest (COI) group on the Online Campus, dedicated to enriching the lives of business relationship management professionals.

BRM Institute is excited to announce that there is now a dedicated Community of Interest (COI) for southern California. As many organizations in California are now looking to adopt a formal business relationship management capability, the Southern California COI aims to serve as a dedicated space for BRMs to share experiences and best practices whilst looking ahead and discussing some of the challenges facing the California market.

Many organizations have developed strong capabilities to deliver high-quality IT systems with throughout their business history, but these enterprises are now facing the need to reform their business strategy and business and operation models to provide value to business partners through new technology like IoT, AI, cloud, and so on. BRM is the key to shaping business strategy and sharing ownership for business results through strategic partnership.

Led by Mark T. Edmead, CBRM®, a key objective of this COI is to encourage virtual and face-to-face engagement with fellow BRMs and other like-minded community groups. Mr. Edmead believes that business functions in southern California stand to transform themselves by creating business value from technology, rather than simply providing high-quality IT services.

“Success no longer lies in aligning IT and business. It is about the convergence of IT and business and how to establish a strategic relationship between the two,” says Mr. Edmead.

The aim of the Southern California COI is to provide an open space for people who believe in the importance of developing and maintaining strong relationships between business and business functions for shared success. Mr. Edmead adds, “All BRMs with an interest in the southern California area are welcome to join this exciting community and be a part of a growing network—let’s connect, learn, share, and develop together!”

We encourage you to visit our Communities of Interest page and find one that aligns with your goals as a BRM, whether it’s through a specific interest, industry, or geographic region. Join a community, introduce yourself, and share some of your BRM journey. Together we can go far!
