Melissa Parker has over seven years of community engagement and data analysis experience in Chicago, IL. In the past, she has worked with the Chicago Tribune and several other small businesses and nonprofits. She is proficient in scraping data utilizing multiple sources to configure and create print and digital multimedia components with the information she extracted. As a social media and marketing consultant for small businesses and nonprofits, Melissa gathered analytics and insights on all social media, email marketing, and paid ad campaigns to monitor trends, engagement, reach, and activity. She identifies target market and key segments through in-depth analysis of markets and related trends to provide SEO and optimization strategies for short- and long-term campaigns. Melissa planned, implemented, and executed community charrettes for small business owners and community stakeholders. She maintained partnerships with vendors and caterers and oversaw the set-up and execution of corporate and private events while managing their budget and expenses.

Melissa holds a Masters of Arts & Communications degree with a specialization in data journalism from DePaul University. She also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a minor in English from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
