IMG_2201-227Based in the UK, David Reid is a Regional Director of the Leading Edge Forum (LEF), a global research and thought leadership community, dedicated to helping large organizations identify and adopt next practices at the growing intersection of business and IT. LEF are also Platinum sponsors of BRM Institute.

Dave has spent the last 15 years in the IT industry, and prior to moving to the LEF three years ago, Dave worked as a business partner for a leading global healthcare organization. When he’s not spending time with his young family or exploring the country on a Triumph motorbike, Dave works with LEF clients to use cutting-edge research to resolve their most pressing business issues. He is also a core instructor in LEF’s expanding global BRM training practice.

In this role, Dave is a true believer in the value of the BRM discipline and has worked with many prestigious clients to advance their BRM thinking and capability, moving them up the business/IT relationship model curve from ‘Provider’ to ‘Peer,’ which was a framework shared by LEF colleague Kirt Mead at the recent BRMConnect conference.

A graduate of Plymouth University with an MBA, Dave is passionate about IT’s role in business and the specific role BRMs must play in guiding the strategic business use of IT. He champions the use of experiential training techniques and soft skill development, which requires advanced interpersonal skills. He states, “Technology is transforming the value proposition in just about every organization, and thus there is a huge need for leaders who both understand where IT is headed and can make things happen in the marketplace. Essentially, BRMs must grow from being relationship managers to true digital leaders.”

On behalf of the LEF, Dave is a key player working with BRM Institute to help ambitious BRMs in achieving exactly this goal.
